Writing the Future: K-Designers
By LMReviews on Jan 18, 2009 in Multicultural Writing, Writing/Freelancing
As a reviewer open to a variety of multicultural content, I have had the pleasure of reading some interesting works set in the future. One thing I have noticed is that many of these works are set way into the future—hundreds of years where spaceships penetrate the atmosphere and breathing is possible in every sector of the galaxy’s vortex.
While I have enjoyed these reads, it would be interesting to read books that are futuristic but are within reach enough for the reader to experience more practical technological advances. For instance, what about K-Designers’ home protective coating that preserves the home’s exterior for life? A writer could view K-Designers’ website to get innovative home reconstruction ideas and expand upon it. This exercise wouldn’t be for the purpose of patenting a process or product that is likely to surface in the near future, but simply to generate futuristic environments that are more closely within reach.
From studying the advancements of companies like K-Designers can provide Sci-Fi and futuristic writers with an endless supply of details from which to draw no matter what realm the characters are on.
