Welcome back!

When we think of writers we often focus on the written product or think about those dramatic eccentric souls who hear voices and would die without a pen and paper on which to scribble his or her thoughts. Many times writers are people passionate about a certain subject and choose to educate and generate a dialogue about it through the form of written media.

In the post, Multicultural Identities I, I talk about Mohammed Babangida who is successful Nigerian businessman. His accomplishments in business force us to broaden our view of countries that are normally characterized by communities of straw huts and roaming man-eating animals. Mohammed Babangida also reminds me to look past the typical stereotypes of writers. He’s written several articles on oil, gas and energy law. Mohammed Babandiga exhibits how professionals add to the literary discourse of their industry through the writing of articles that educate and share the industry’s history and advancements.

Writers not only seek to entertain by sharing their creativity, they also attempt to educate and promote a dialogue about various topics. Likewise, professionals often use writing to inform and document advancements within their chosen industry.
