Welcome back!

As we move away from self-indulgence toward self-discovery, the search for spirituality and humanity advances beyond the previous generations of excess.
As a society, we have entered this era’s search for life’s meaning and the guidebook in which to apply it. Unlike the past, our spiritual renewal is not limited to the interpretation of ancient godly texts or the oratory of organized religious preachers, cult leaders and inspirational teachers.
Many are looking inward to define their place in spiritual society. Instead of viewing the church as the source to establish spiritual identity, seekers are reinforcing an existing relationship with the Creator through fellowship with others. Thanks to the Internet, the varied beliefs are introduced with just a click of the pointer. Limited to no geographic boundaries, new disciples are merging in light of similar beliefs.
The next spiritual revolution has arrived blazing a trail from one open modem to the next.
The soaring success of the videos, What the Bleep Do We Know, The Secret and I Am the Standard speak to the kind of world we want to live in, the kind of life we want to live and role we wish to play in each.
In my search for another electronic treasure of information on the Internet, I discovered a video short entitled “I Am the Standard” by Lamar Richardson of Uplift Productions. The video calls on the viewer to embrace individuality. The scenes depict the peace that is derived not only from accepting your own individuality but also from accepting the uniqueness of others. Images reflecting love between races and the power of acknowledging the views of others go a long way to canceling stereotypes and encouraging a sense of understanding we need to have among each other. The video does not suggest that we have to agree, but it supports an environment where we respect views that differ from ours simply because everyone has a right to their own beliefs and deserve the opportunity to contribute to the societal dialogue.
It is our differing experiences and views that create the most interest. Without a single word but solely through the expression of images and music with an upbeat tempo, this video short brings into existence the type of world we are striving to create with prayer, obedience, worship, edification and rebirth; power.
