Thanks GW. Wow, everything truly is bigger in Texas. I have always wondered about its cultural variety being such a huge state. Thanks for such a great post. I've always thought about visiting Texas but had no clue where to begin. Thanks for the ideas!

Laura
Glad you had a great trip. If you think the differences between New York and Pennsylvania are big, you should see the differences in Texas. It's like 4 states in 1. Then you got the differences between big cities, mid size towns, small towns, and rual areas where you only have a dozen or more residents. Take Dallas & Ft Worth, Dallas is high energy, agressive while Ft Worth, just 60 miles west of Dallas, is a lot more relaxed and layed back. It's almost like you're on two different planets. Houston is just 250 miles from the D/FW area. It's a cross between Dallas & Ft Worth. San Antonia and El Passo are rich with Mexican culture. Really there is too much to put in this comment about the differences in each area of Texas. Countries such as Spain, France, Mexico, Africa, Native American, America and many other European countries have helped make Texas culture what it is today.
