best give ever given was my 60th birthday last year when my son who was in Europe was sent by his wife and in-laws to surprise me in the states for my birthday. He is my only child and it had been a year and I had no clue he was coming….a whole weekend with my “baby boy”…that was my greatest gift
I’d love to win any of these books.
The best gift I got for Christmas was the 1-carat diamond ring my husband gave me last year. Equally as wonderful was a painted rock my niece gave me when she was around 6.

The best ever birthday gift that I received was giving birth to my first son on my birthday. Thanks for this great giveaway. I love the Hanukkah gift pack.
The weirdest Christmas gift I’ve ever received was a Dr. Phil weight loss book from my (now ex) mother in law…while I was pregnant! I can laugh about it now…but back then…not so much
I’d love to win the Christmas pack. Thanks for the chance!
One of the nicest gifts I’ve ever received was from grandson last Christmas. He bought it at his school with his own money. It’s a pink glass case with flowers on it and it says “World’s Best Grandma”!

What a wonderful giveaway!
The best gifts I’ve ever recieved have been the home/hand made ones from my children. I treasure the cards, pictures, handprints, dishtowels, ornaments, magnets, etc. that they’ve given me over the years.

The strangest gift was a misshapen, off-colored African gourd from my sister, who is decidedly not Afrocentric but wanted to acknowledge my interest in things African. Except it looked like a summer camp art project, not anything I would ever display. I kept it for years though, not wanting to hurt her feelings.
A lady who my Mom worked with was going through cancer and we invited her to our Christmas doings and gave her a gift. She was so thankful and it made my heart just fill to bursting.

Ok don’t laugh, but my fav. gift was the first christmas after hubby and I were married. He bought me a dishwasher… I loved it!

The weirdest gift I have ever received was from my brother. My hubby opened the package and was uncommonly silent and passed me the box. Inside, was a large ornament (I know it was an ornament because it had a hangy thingy on it). It looked like a large fly with super buggy eyes and gold coloured filigree wings…….We of course said our thankyous, but after we got home, we sat around this “thing” (the 3 kids, hubby and I) all trying to figure out why they hated us so much! lol It was truly a bizzarre Christmas moment!
I’m in Canada; hoping its ok to enter!
Thanks
I think the best gift I ever received was the birth of my first daughter. She was born just after the holidays and she made my world a better place.
Absolutely, it’s ok to enter!
I think the best reaction to a gift I gave (to a friend) was the gift being laid out until friend’s father came home, so he could see it, the friend going from one part of the gift to another, and, since then, having re-read the book that was part of it at least twice.
I was very young and we were poor. My father was out of work and we had trouble making the rent each month, so we expected no presnts at all. What I really wanted was a Christmas tree, but those cost money too. On Chrismas eve, my father came home with the scraggliest, most misshapen little tabletop tree that I had ever seen! It was so ugly that noone had bought it so he was able to get it for 50 cents! It was an answer to a prayer and we decorated it and thought it was beautiful! I’ve called it my “Charlie Brown Christmas tree” ever since.
The best gift I’ve ever received is a beautiful necklace with a heart pendant from my boyfriend, who put so much thought into it – it really made me feel incredibly special. I’d love to win the Hannukah pack of books. Thanks and Happy Holidays!
The best gift I’ve ever received was news that my sister was finally free of cancer. Thanks
When I select a gift for anyone I go out of my way to be sure that it is unique and suits them as an individual. It doesn’t mean it is extravagant but it is thoughtful. I enjoy doing this and it gives me great pleasure. When I decided on a present for my sister I surprised her with this special gift. No reaction whatsoever.
Touched by the past:
Back when I was an extremely young girl, during Xmas night, I was awoken to chatter in the kitchen. It sounded like 2 woman. My sister was asleep in the same bed, so I nudged her awake too. Then the two of us went off to investigate. First we went to our parents room, and they were both in there sleeping and snoring soundly. Next we proceeded down the stairs. No lights were on anywhere, but we could still hear the holiday sounds of clanking dishes, high heels on the linoleum, water running, and the chatter of exciting preparation for the holidays. We looked in the living room first, and saw our presents sprawled out underneath the tree. Still hearing the festivities, we proceeded to the kitchen. But when we got within a few feet of the kitchen, it suddenly stopped.
The 2 of us proceeded to the kitchen to find it dark, and the way it was left the night before. Everything put away, and neat and tidy. Not a single sign of the festive activities that we heard. We even checked the sink and dish towel, and both were dry.
Immediately, me and my sister took off for our bedroom. Us 2 girls were somewhat scared, and we both took turns staying awake to listen for it again. Eventually, we both fell asleep.
The next morning we both ran downstairs to open our presents. But before we could begin, we had to ask our parents about what had happened. We explained how we heard 2 woman in high heels having a grand time. Both my parents went pale. And us girls refused to proceed with Xmas until they talked to us about it. You see, when our parents bought and looked at the house, only one elderly woman was there. That was the only woman me and my sister met. But our parents explained that she was moving because the sister that lived with her, had passed away. I then asked my mother if the remaining sister was alive. But she didn’t know.
The nightly festivities became a regular custom during all holidays. Until one Easter, I, all by myself stood at the top of the stairwell, and talked to the women. I explained that I thought they were wonderful people, and it was great that they were having such a wonderful time. But could they make sure we didn’t hear them since it scared us. All of a sudden, the festivities ended. Never to be heard again.
To this day, I will never forget this. Even though it was scarey, it wasn’t. And if it was just an echo from the past, why did it stop when I asked? Who knows, perhaps those 2 sweet sisters are celebrating their holidays in that very kitchen to this day.
Thanks so much for sharing this great experience. I love stories like this. I remember sneaking into the living room one Xmas morning. in the adjacent dining area, we had my high chair which I had outgrown by at least two years. I was peering around the corner and saw the paper towel roll that was sitting on my high-chair tilt as if someone was tipping it…I, too ran back to bed very fast!
I got an early Christmas present – I got an ebook reader. I’d wanted one for sooooo long and finally got one, but these books here would be a nice addition to my collection.
Perhaps I should ask for a new book shelf … lol. The one I have now is starting to overflow! LOL
Happy holidays everyone!
Id love to win the christmas books
the strangest gift i ever got was a life size picture of my ex bf and I…what was i supposed to do, hang it on the wall? :-/ weird
