Ricardo Montalban, one of the first highly visible Hispanic actors died last week at the age of 88. He was born in Mexico City, Mexico in the 1920′s and rose to prominence in the post war era. He starred in over 10 Spanish movies in Mexico. He also served over 20 years as president of Nosotros , a organization dedicated to the advancement of Hispanics in the entertainment industry.
I have to admit, my only frame of reference for Ricardo Montalban was watching him wait for Fantasy Island’s new arrivals. Well, here’s a different definition for that white suit he always wore.
Now he dances among the clouds. Thanks Ricardo for your elegance, wisdom, activism and style.

Dos Equis should have hired Ricardo Montalban to do a few ads for them, he could have done their “most interesting man in the world” bit perfectly (and he has a Spanish accent)
