Pat Says….About her Writing Genre
Posted by LMReviewsSep 22
Welcome back!
Welcome to a week with Essence Award-winning author Pat G’Orge-Walker. Pat has agreed to stop by Sable Lit Reviews during her virtual book tour to share her unique brand of literary comedy with us. We’ll have interview questions and articles from Pat that express her vision and her stance in the literary and publishing community.
Sable Lit Reviews(SLR): Welcome Pat. We appreciate you stopping by Sable Lit Reviews for a whole week to give a chance learn more about your writing and showcase your talent. Please define your genre for us.
Pat G’Orge-Walker (PGW): Inspirational/Christian Fiction/Gospel comedy
SLR: I love that. We often hear about Inspirational and Christian fiction, Gospel comedy gives a lot extra. I read Sister Betty God’s Calling You about a year ago and it was definitely a gospel comedy. We’ve all encountered some of those “characters” in our church at one time or another. I really enjoyed it.
With that said, what has brought you to write in such a unique and interesting niche?
PGW: A need that is very hard to explain. It’s like a need for water when you really want a soda. Until you drink the water you are unfulfilled.
SLR: I can really relate to that. There was a time when I didn’t feel I was ready to write. Not enough life experience or whatever, but over time I realized it had nothing to do with experience and everything to do with why I was given a beating heart.
When did you make that realization for yourself?
PGW: From as far back as elementary school there’s been a hunger for words and putting them to paper.
SLR: You are very lucky. I remember writing or attempting to write
when I was very young. But it wasn’t until I realized that it was a necessity in order for me to feel fulfilled.
Well tour takers, sorry to cut this short so abruptly, but like good church folk, we don’t want to give away all the good stuff right away!
So please check out Pat’s official website by navigating over to http://www.patgorgewalker.com. We’ll be back tomorrow to discuss more about Pat’s writing journey, so bookmark us or subscribe using the upper right box. Last, if you have a question for Pat, lets have it! We love hearing from you.
Until tomorrow….
Pat G’Orge-Walker
