Beast Magic, an erotic romance, tells the story of Shana, a single virginal boutique employee who endures an increasing amount of sleepless nights at the hands of an unrelenting nightmare. It’s not the boogeyman or Jack the Ripper who’s been stalking her slumber since the age of five but a massive alpha lion–a beast that arouses her as much as it frightens her. With every intention of confronting her fear and examining her lust, Shana heads to the zoo to prove once and for all that the nightmares of her childhood should stay there. The visit leads to several sexual romps with this shape-shifting king of the jungle, a bitter love triangle and a war in the animal kingdom.
Beast Magic was a visual feast for the mind’s eye. The wielding of Phelan’s pen left this reader breathless and anxious for what lurked around the corner as Shana’s love with the beast left her marked for retaliation from a rejected lioness convinced Shana’s lion king was meant to be her own.
It was my first read of a shape-shifter story and I really enjoyed. It blasted every preconceived notion I had about the genre. Phelan’s Beast Magic earns 4 out of 5 stars.

The storyline is very interest. The book has perk my interest. I would like to know what are ethnicity of two main characters.
Hi Cinquetta, the heroine is Caucasian and the Hero, who is a shapeshifting lion is described as “golden” from the Arabic and Indian references he uses in the story I’d say origins originate from one of those. Also one of his closest friends is a shapeshifting panther from Africa…who is a black man in human form. I hope that helps and thanks for posting a comment!
